Paul tells us that God "has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ" (Eph. 1:3). God promised a physical land to Abraham and his descendants. During the time of Joshua, God told the Israelites, "I will give you every place you set foot on" (Josh. 1:3). Likewise Paul instructs us in Ephesians 4-6 how to "set our foot" on our spiritual blessings in Christ and make them our own. Part of that practical possession is our spiritual warfare. We are to "be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power" and "put on the full armor of God" to "stand against the devil's schemes" (Eph. 6:10-11). We must stand firm in the victory Christ achieved for us on Calvary. We must constantly be clothed with the full armor of God - the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of readiness that come from the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and "the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God" (vv. 14-17).
Yes, every person in Christ needs to DAILY put on our FULL armour. One or two pieces won't cut it. It has to be the entire thing in order to do battle.
