No Time

Lately, I've been so consumed with work and more work, looking for ways to stretch my finances to cover for my tuition fees and allowance (for I'm taking up MA Nursing), always in a hurry, forgetting the most important things in life but I'm so thankful that it didn't take for long. I am just glad to read this poem again and remind me to be still. I believe some have read this already but I'd like to post it here anyway. It might help remind others too.
THE POEM I knelt to pray but not for long, I had too much to do. I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due. So I knelt and said a hurried prayer, And jumped up off my knees. My Christian duty was now done My soul could rest at ease. All day long I had no time To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Christ to friends, They'd laugh at me I'd fear. No time, no time, too much to do, That was my constant cry, No time to give to souls in need But at last the time, the time to die. I went before the Lord, I came,
I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life. God looked into his book and said "Your name I cannot find. I once was going to write it down... But never found the time"

  3. Ah, precisely my point, Zel...because now, i do not believe in a punishing God, as portrayed in the Bible. I believe now in a God that gives grace rather than punishment. I belive in grace as his judgment rather than punishment or hell. The last part can be interpreted depending on the level of the individual's faith and or spirituality, also subject to one's cultural background and personal experiences. I do not know how to elaborate more but you are right, too. All of us are correct in whichever way we interprete the bible, for it is rather a guide rather than the rule...well, for me. hehehe
